This is my full review for the Deeper Smart Sonar Pro+ Fish Finder. All of the products reviewed by KFC are assigned a score for important categories. One of the most important categories for fish finders is Accuracy. These tools are only useful if they display accurate information. The accuracy of this model is highly regarded. It does a great job of relaying the current location and size of fish. The GPS is also extremely accurate, and it gives me the ability to find the exact location of my favorite honey holes. The Deeper Smart Sonar Pro+ has earned a great accuracy score of 4.5 out of 5.

The Deeper Smart Sonar Pro+ is an advanced piece of portable fish finder technology. New technologies are often hampered with reliability issues. This fish finder is packed with features, so it could have hardware or software issues. Fortunately, the designers and engineers have all done an excellent job. I have yet to experience any sort of reliability issue. The GPS and WiFi have both worked 100% of the time on my fishing trips. The Deeper Smart Sonar Pro+ fish finder is a reliable work horse, and it has earned a score of 4.5 in this category.
Deeper Smart Sonar Pro+ Battery

The Deeper Smart Sonar Pro+ has an included rechargeable battery. The manual states that the battery can last 5.5 hours of continuous use. I have actually used it over 10 hours on a single charge during a long day of fishing. It was in the water a majority of that time, so it was using power. The Deeper Pro+ has a great power-saving feature; it only powers on when it is in the water or attached to the charger. The battery that I worry most about on my kayak fishing trips is my smart phone. The WiFi causes my phone to lose battery fairly quickly. As a result, I decided to have a backup power bank with me at all times.

The Deeper Smart Sonar Pro+ packs a ton of features in a small black ball. The included Wi-Fi allows the fish finder to submit and record detailed information by connecting to your smart phone or tablet. This model even has the ability to map and record the bottom of the body of water. The versatility of this device helps set it apart from competitors. It works perfectly for kayak fishing, shore fishing, and ice fishing. You can even map tight and shallow locations that your kayak or boat can’t reach. This product sets the bar for portable fish finder features. It has earned a perfect score of 5 for this category.
Ease of Use

Many traditional fish finders are complex and take a while to learn how to use. The Deeper fish finders all require you to use a smart phone or tablet to connect to the transducer. The smart devices serve as a display and use the Deeper App to record the information and access features. As a result, the ease of use is primarily dependent on the Deeper app. I am pleased to report that this app is excellent. I enjoy being able to navigate with a touch screen rather than the clunky keypad of a traditional fish finder display. It is extremely intuitive and easy to navigate. You do not have to be a tech genius to master the Deeper Smart Sonar Pro+. I have awarded a perfect score of 5 for this category.
Deeper Smart Sonar Pro+ Price

The price for this model may appear high when it is compared with other models, but I feel that it is fairly reasonable for the features offered. The current price of $215 is on the same level as some of the other GPS enabled fish finders. Some of those other brands, like the Garmin Striker 4, come with additional hardware. I personally feel that they could lower their price on this model a bit, but they have more room to lower the price for their other models. As a result, I rated this a solid 4.
Deeper Customer Service

I have personally had limited interactions with this company, so I spoke with others to get their take. New products and tech gadgets like this require a large customer support team to help keep customers satisfied. Some companies don’t fully fund their support staff, which can lead to frustration and poor reviews. After learning about other customer experiences, i know that Deeper has placed a priority on keeping their customers happy. The Overall Score is calculated by taking an average of all the other scores listed above. I consider a score of 4+ as really good and 4.5+ as excellent. The Overall Score for the Pro+ is exactly 4.5. Deeper is a solid company that is selling this accurate and reliable fish finder that is packed with features. This is currently the highest score earned in the entire fish finder product category. This product is highly recommended.

My Experience with Pro+
This is currently the model that I have installed on my kayak. I purchased it in early 2017, and I firmly believe that it was well worth the price. It has been extremely accurate, and it has been easy for me to learn the features. This can be attributed to the user-friendly design of the app. This one tool has helped me catch over double the number of fish in the past year that I have owned it. As I have stated on other posts, this finder has completely changed my entire kayak fishing experience. It has enhanced my fishing skills, has made my trips much more fun, and is my second favorite piece of kayak fishing gear behind my kayak fishing cart .
